About Nkemakonam Ikekpeazu, MD, FACS

Dr. Nkemakoman Ikepeazu is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He was born and raised in Nigeria where he received his medical education at the University of Calabar College of Medical Sciences. He came to the U.S. in 1992 and did his residency in General Surgery at the Yale University School of Medicine, Hospital of St. Raphael, in New Haven, where he received numerous awards, including Resident of the Year, and was twice given the President’s Award for Academic Excellence. He is known to patients and associates as “Dr. Ike.”

A U.S. citizen, Dr. Ike has been a general surgeon in private practice in Connecticut since 1999. His independent practice is affiliated with.

Dr. Ike has certification from the American Board of Surgery and is a member of:

He has served as Secretary of the Medical Staff and a member of the Medical Executive Board at the Yale University School of Medicine, Hospital of St. Raphael.

Dr. Ike is President of the Enugu State Association of Connecticut, which promotes interaction among people from the Igbo state of Nigeria living in Connecticut. He has worked with his church’s youth mentorship programs and enjoys tennis and reading.
